Why Cozumel, Mexico
Cozumel, located east of the coast of Quintana Roo, is Mexicos largest island. The average temperature of 26-28 degrees Celsius all year round is perfect for relaxing days at the beach or pool. Although recently discovered by the international "jet set", Cozumel still retains the traditional essence and calm setting of an island.
A major attraction throughout the Riviera Maya is the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System, largest in the Americas and second in size worldwide. Also known as Belize Barrier Reef, it begins near Cancun and continues along the whole length of the Riviera Maya continuing southward to Guatemala.
The islands’ only golf course, Cozumel Country Club, is proud to be the first course in Mexico to achieve the certification as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. The ancient Mayan name of “Cuzamil” meant Island of the Swallow. Golfers will now be finding even more birdies on Cozumel.
